Tasman District Council Environment Awards (Commercial) highly commended
In November we were honoured to receive an award from the Tasman District Council recognising our efforts in becoming a more sustainable business. With the Nelson Tasman region being full of enterprising people and companies that care for the environment there was stiff competition! The award takes pride of place on our wall alongside our Sustainable Business Network Awards and inspires us to even greater acheivements.

Judges Commendation National Sustainable Business Network Awards
On October 9th 2008 Tasman Bay Vets received a Judge's Commendation at the National Sustainable Business Network Awards, held at the Auckland Museum. The award recognised Tasman Bay Vets as a leader in a field that is traditionally not involved in sustainability.
In her speech at the awards business owner and veterinarian, Paula Short, described the veterinary degree as being a "five year crash course in problem solving", something that places veterinarians in a perfect position to help their clients identify and reduce the impacts of animals on the planet's fragile ecosystems.

Winner Emerging Small and Medium Business South Island Region Sustainable Business Network Awards
Tasman Bay Vets was pleased to be awarded the emerging small and medium business award at the South Island region's Sustainable Business Network awards amongst stiff competition.
The emerging business award is given to businesses involved in sustainability for two years or less. The award reflects the hard work and commitment of the Tasman Bay Vets team to pursuing a better way of doing business. Over the past two years we have looked carefully at every aspect of our business process to see where we could make progress towards our goal of becoming a more sustainable company.
Not only have we made much progress towards reducing our impact on the planet we have also made a huge effort to inspire other veterinary businesses to do the same.
