I graduated from Glasgow University in 2007, having grown up in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. I spent much of my vet school time dedicated to learning about horses in particular, and completed two externships at the University of California, Davis, in both equine surgery and medicine.
I came to New Zealand shortly after graduation lured by the beautiful scenery and relaxed lifestyle that i had experienced on previous visits. I spent my first year out in the thick of Canterbury's racing industry as an ambulatory equine vet, followed by a short stint as a small animal locum in Blenheim.
I knew Tasman Bay Vets was the place for me having witnessed the golden sands and the turquoise sea of Kaiteriteri, the welcoming community feel of Motueka and the excellent team at the clinic.
When i am not working I spend my time with my young daughter, Kate. We like to do anything in the great outdoors! My long term goal is for kate and I to have a small holding with as many animals as we can manage, a veggie patch and a batch on the beach (we can but dream!)
