Hi, I'm Basil. When I was a little kitten I discovered Tasman Bay Vets. This was back in the old days when they had
their clinic in Wallace Street. I sat on the doorstep one morning and they let me in. The rest, as they say, is history.
I am essential to the running of the clinic. My daily tasks include the meet and greet of customers and an overview of the front desk, including watching eftpos transactions to ensure they are completed properly. I also like to check the stock, especially the dog beds to make sure they are up to scratch and I always check the cattery for any leftover food as I would hate to see it go to waste. Sometimes this habit gets me into trouble and the vet nurses put me on a diet. I am chief product tester and enjoy this role especially sampling the new cat foods on offer and I am particularly fond of the cat nip, although they have put it out of my reach now. Occasionally I help with mundane jobs like filing and generally keep a watchful eye on the place.
When things are not too busy I like to relax on a chair in the vets office or in my bed in the kennel area. Sometimes I get a bit stressed and overgroom myself which has led to my nickname "barebottom Basil" although my latest bare bottom is due to a bit of an accident I had recently - never trust a dog!
